Relaxation Massage

Exactly that – a relaxing massage.  Essentially the same as a gentle Swedish massage that uses smooth, gliding strokes. The massage therapist will move at a slower pace and use light pressure. During a relaxation massage there is less emphasis on working out serious adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue and the therapist won’t push your pain limits in order to get the muscle to release. Sometimes people even fall asleep during a relaxation massage.

Swedish Massage

Referred to classic massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to to reduce pain and joint stiffness.  It can also improve circulation.  The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement(rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking.

Deep Tissue Massage

Designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury.

Myofascial Release

Refers to the manual massage technique for stretching the fascia (the connective tissue) and releasing bonds between fascia and muscles with the goal of eliminating pain and increasing range of motion.  Myofascial release usually involves applying shear compression or tension in various directions, or by skin rolling and is recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity or who have sustained physical injury.

Neuromuscular Massage

Addresses the interaction between the nervous system control of the muscles and the response of the muscle to the nerve signals being sent. This body work influences the reflexive responses or the nervous system and its connection to muscular function.

Reiki

A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on of hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reflexology

An alternative medicine involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands that effects a physical change to the body.

Custom Facial

Transform and rejuvenate your skin with our custom facial. Based on your skin type your esthetician will analyze and customize your facial to restore your skin to it’s natural balance. Included in this custom facial is a deep cleansing,
exfoliation, steam and extractions, anti stress face and neck massage finishing with a calming mask. This treatment is available in a 60 min session as well as a condensed 30 min session.

This intensive “facial”  provides deep cleansing, extractions and exfoliation of the often neglected back and shoulders. Treatment also includes a relaxing massage.

Microdermabrasion

A non-invasive exfoliation treatment that polishes the skin texture by smoothing fine lines, reducing the effects of sun damage and minimizing enlarged pores and scarring.
Available in a crushed walnut organic option for a light polishing treatment or an aluminum oxide crystal for a more intense deeper peel.

Signature Facial
